A Short Course in Embodied Awakening

 

This course introduces key goddesses from the Tantric yogic tradition, not as distant deities, but as living archetypes within you. Each module offers a lens into your own psyche, power, shadow and spiritual evolution.

Module 1: Durga – The Inner Warrior

Theme: Boundaries, courage, spiritual empowerment

  • Durga rides a lion — she teaches us how to ride our fear.

  • Protects the heart, upholds dharma.

  • Invites you to say no with love and power.

  • Practices: Boundary-setting journaling, solar plexus activation, warrior poses, mantra: Om Dum Durgayei Namaha

Module 2: Kali – The Liberator

Theme: Radical transformation, death of ego, truth

  • Fierce, raw, unapologetically real — Kali destroys what no longer serves.

  • Not the goddess of violence, but of liberation.

  • Teaches us to let go of illusions and roles.

  • Practices: Shadow work, shaking/dance, breath of fire, mantra: Om Krim Kalikayai Namaha

Module 3: Lakshmi – The Radiant One

Theme: Beauty, abundance, self-worth

  • Embodiment of grace, sensuality, prosperity.

  • Lakshmi teaches receiving — not just giving.

  • Aligns you with the frequency of enoughness and generosity.

  • Practices: Gratitude, adornment rituals, yin yoga, mantra: Om Shrim Mahalakshmiyei Namaha

Module 4: Saraswati – The Flow of Wisdom

Theme: Creativity, speech, intuition, flow states

  • Goddess of mantra, music, language, and insight.

  • Awakens inner knowing and the creative current.

  • Teaches purity of intention and clarity of thought.

  • Practices: Journaling, chanting, freewriting, intuitive movement, mantra: Om Aim Saraswatyai Namaha

Module 5: Parvati – The Devoted Yogini

Theme: Discipline, devotion, spiritual longing

  • The queen of sadhana — she chooses love over ego again and again.

  • Balances fierceness with softness.

  • Teaches the power of consistent practice and sacred partnership.

  • Practices: Daily sadhana commitment, heart-centred meditation, mantra: Om Parvatyai Namaha

Module 6: Radha – The Lover of the Divine

Theme: Bhakti, longing, surrender

  • Archetype of sacred relationship and divine union.

  • Awakens the heart’s longing as a path to God.

  • Teaches intimacy, softness, and the holiness of love.

  • Practices: Bhakti yoga (singing, poetry), heart-opening poses, mantra: Om Radha Krishnaya Namaha

Module 7: Dhumavati – The Crone & Void

Theme: Emptiness, endings, the wisdom of loss

  • The goddess of disappointment, grief, and the void.

  • Teaches sovereignty, detachment, and embracing impermanence.

  • Her gifts often come wrapped in pain.

  • Practices: Silent meditation, grief rituals, fasting or solitude, mantra: Om Dhum Dhum Dhumavati Swaha

Closing Integration: Becoming Shakti

  • Reflect on which goddess lives most strongly in you now.

  • Create recognition of the archetypes alive in the world around us.
